ANNOUNCEMENT

In response to COVID-19 the mobility will be composed of:
1. E-Mobility: Distance Learning from March 01-31
2. Travel to Iceland: Field Studies from June 20-25

E-Mobility

It is proposed that in-class learning be replaced with modern distance learning techniques in order to avoid delays in knowledge dissemination. The proposed e-Mobility content amounts to 3 ECTS. Reykjavik University faculty and industry experts will provide online learning material for registered students via RU’s online Learning Management Platform, Canvas. Lectures cover the topics of energy in Iceland, geothermal energy and systems, hydroelectric power, energy policy and electric power systems. Students will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained through the lectures when considering a potential application of renewable energy solutions in Romania.

Travel to Iceland*

The proposed course is a one-week 3 ECTS intensive field course that connects the online course material taught during March with the real-world applications in Iceland. Through the knowledge gained in this course, the main drivers of sustainable energy are identified, and the opportunities and challenges involved in meeting demand are discussed.

*Should pandemic restrictions prevent the planned activities, the mobility will be postponed.

The selected beneficiary students will travel to Iceland when the sanitary regulations will allow it (most likely in July-September 2021) and if they will be eligible at the time of travel (i.e. they are still students of the Faculty of Physics).
If a beneficiary will not be able to take part in the exchange during that period, then the students on the reserve list will qualify for travel in the order of the list above, if they are eligible when traveling (i.e. they are students of the Faculty of Physics).
